Presentation Details:

What is the greatest risk to all projects? Well that would be poor project management! A lot of project managers have great schedules, know how to manage their costs, work their communication plan and even build teams. Some project managers even perform a risk analysis during planning. Then it goes into a drawer or an archive… Not many project managers create the risk analysis with their team let alone use their risk analysis to monitor and control their project. When you use your risk analysis properly, you can prevent surprises. This presentation will reveal very easy and simple ways to plan, monitor and control your project’s risks.

Linda is an experienced Project Manager with 33 years of service at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. When her husband retired from Goodyear, she did as well so that the two of them could move to the beautiful Smokey Mountains of Georgia. Early in her career, Linda was an IT professional until she found her passion for Project Management in 1995. Her very first project was on time and on budget which immediately set her apart from others running projects at Goodyear. She continued in project management, obtained her PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and later returned to school to get her Master’s degree in project management. During her 15+ years as a project manager, she also started two Project Management Offices, performed Project Management Maturity assessments and was an active teacher, coach and mentor to other project managers. Linda’s last job at Goodyear was as the Enterprise Competency Manager of the Global PMO where she traveled the world training individuals, project teams and sponsors in everything from project management fundamentals to PMP preparation classes. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Akron, she has also taught project management to Master’s students. Today, Linda continues educating others in project management through PMI Atlanta where she serves on the Education committee and through her consulting business.
