Sixth Sense Buy-in

Description:   For project managers and others who facilitate change, gaining real buy-in from team members can be challenging. Getting team members emotionally committed and mentally focused on the initiative is critical to project success. Project leaders can use specific skills to ensure meaningful interactions with team members. Meaningful interactions are the foundation for developing team Buy- In. This seminar will help develop these skills and give participants the key “take away” skills to bring to your project16:48:23s tomorrow.

Course objectives:

Step 1: Include
How can you get people to share a common, meaningful purpose? The team members must first feel like they are included and important, before they will be committed. Learn skills and methods for making people feel part of the team. You will understand the value of relationships in team settings and methods/ techniques for managing group dynamics.

Step 2: Observe
As a team leader, you can learn much from observing and reading behaviors and non-verbal communications of people on the team. You will learn what to look for, how to interpret and how to use the information to keep the individuals and team at optimal performance levels.

Step 3: Respond
The project manager/ team leader must be confident in her/ his ability to respond to any of possible project situation. A PMP will teach you to use all the skills and techniques covered to avoid potential roadblocks, improve communication and complete the buy-in cycle

Instructor:   Dr. Dale Christenson

Instructor Bio.  Dr. Christenson is the founder and president of the Project Management Centre of Excellence Inc. He's a Certified Management Consultant and Project Management Professional specializing in project management consulting and training. He combines an extensive academic background with real-world expertise in the areas of program and portfolio management, organizational development, change management and critical project success factors. He's held project management leadership positions in the public and private sectors.
 
Dale has a Doctorate in Project Management from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Australia and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees, diplomas and certificates in Criminology, Counseling Psychology and Project Management. Dale has 10 peer reviewed journal articles to his credit and is a frequent speaker at conferences. He is the winner of the Project Management’s Institute (PMI) Project of the Year and the winner of the Canadian Institute of Public Administration Leadership Award. He also serves as the Past President on his local PMI chapter in Victoria British Columbia.
