PMI Atlanta 2010 Professional Development Day

By Dean Cheatham, PMP, CPHIMS

The 2010 PMI Atlanta PDD will be here in just a couple of months.  For those of you who haven’t yet registered, let’s talk specifics.

• Look at the agenda . . . the seminar topics go from SCRUM to Agile project management to working with multi-generational teams. There will be conversations at the PDD that will benefit even the most experienced and knowledgeable project manager.

• Given the speakers . . . given the attendees . . . given the sponsors . . . this will be one of the best project management meet and greet opportunities of 2010.

• The event is on a Saturday, so most of you don’t have to take personal time off, you don’t have to rush from the office to the conference – none of that – you simply have to show up and learn.  Easy.

• PMI Atlanta members who register by March 1, 2010, will only pay $195 for this six PDU, all-day event.

• You get fed - breakfast, lunch, and snacks.  Food is good. And, yes, there’s also coffee.

This will be one of the best PMI events of the year.  Period.

Even with all of that, it’s OK if you’re not sure the PDD is right for you. Take in the event by volunteering.  You’ll get the feel of the occasion, you’ll get to interact with your colleagues, you’ll get to add a line in the “Community & Professional Service” section of your resume, and you’ll be helping PMI Atlanta help you. Drop a line to PDD2010@pmiatlanta.org with “Volunteer” in the subject line; we’ll be happy to welcome you to the experience.

One way or the other, you need to be at PMI Atlanta’s 2010 PDD on May 1st.
