Full Day Class - 8 PDUs
Aligning Expectations: Effective Project Estimating and Control - 2010801
(This class was rescheduled due to weather)
Description: A project’s success is often measured by the team’s ability to deliver a defined set of outcomes on time, on budget, and on specification. More importantly, however, is the team’s ability to successfully manage the expectations of the groups and individuals who have a vested interest in the outcome of the project. In simpler terms, this means that the project team must effectively align the project delivery with expectations of key stakeholders.
Aligning Expectations: Effective Project Estimating and Control is a one-day training session designed to provide project team members and participants with better ways to successfully define, deliver, and control the schedule and cost factors of a project with more precision.
Course objectives: Participants will learn how to:
- Better identify and articulate elements of a project that represent components of project costs
- Effectively estimate project timelines and costs with greater precision and accuracy using proven cost estimating techniques
- Account for uncertain (“known unknowns” and “unknown unknowns”) when formulating a project schedule and budget
- Establish cost performance measurement baselines for the project
- Improve the team’s ability to track, communicate, and report progress associated with scope, schedule, and costs
